New York Automotive Diesel Institute

BACKGROUND

The New York Automotive Diesel Institute, or NYADI, located in Jamaica, New York, is a school that prepares students to work in the automotive industry. The school gives certificates that are ASE certified and offers six different areas of emphasis.

The New York Automotive Diesel Institute gives students training in areas that can be completed in as little as one year. Students have the opportunity to choose from a master level or certificate level with many of the programs offered through New York Auto Institute.

Applicants can be as young as 17 and enroll in the school if they have parental consent (for those under 18). The only other requirement for enrollment is to have a high school diploma or GED. Students can attend classes on a full-time or part-time basis. Classes are always starting so there is no need to wait until the fall or spring semester as with some traditional programs.

The New York Automotive Diesel Institute is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. Financial aid is available for those that qualify, and career placement assistance is available to all students once they complete the program.

My name is Mr. Hart and I am the college president of NYADI. While I respect your opinion and your right to comment, I also respectfully submit that since you are not a student at the school, some of the comments you are providing are not from firsthand experience and therefore do not provide any prospective students the helpful information that they might need to make an informed decision about whether or not to enroll in our school.

Let me provide you with a little background about myself and NYADI. I have been the executive director/college president of NYADI for nearly 20 years. I came from the automotive industry and have over 15 years experience in the field. I hold an associate degree in Automotive Technology and I am ASE Master Certified in Automotive as well has Master Certified in Medium/Heavy Truck, in addition to several other ASE certifications. I also have an MBA. Over my 20 years in education, I have trained thousands of students who have gone onto successful careers in the automotive related industries.

NYADI is the first automotive college in New York state. We have been unanimously approved by the New York State Board of Regents after a comprehensive and rigorous review process to ensure the highest educational standards to be able to offer associate degrees. We are also NATEF/ASE Master Certified in Automotive, Medium/Heavy Truck and Collision Repair & Refinishing. We are the only post-secondary institution in New York state to hold such a distinction. NATEF/ASE is the industry standard in insuring the highest standards in all aspects of training from facility to equipment to curriculum to instructor qualifications and training. Additionally, we are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, an organization that insures the highest levels of quality education. We have been hand selected to be a partner with Fiat Chrysler for their MOPAR CAP program as well as Diamler Trucks of North America's Get Ahead program. Surely all of these organizations and the experts they employ see something very special in NYADI.

As for our students, the overwhelming majority of our students are extremely satisfied with their choice. On a recent accreditation renewal visit, over 90% of students indicated that they were happy with the training they received and 89% indicated that they would recommend to a friend. This was an anonymous survey given by the representative of ACCSC. I am in the school every day and speak to many, many students, the majority of which express a high satisfaction with our programs. The employers who employ our graduates consistently give high ratings to the skills and employability of our students. We recently held our semi-annual career fair at the school and near 30 national and local employers came to recruit our students. NYADI grads are in high demand.

Since you indicated that you are not a student at NYADI, I invite you to come a visit our campus. I will personally meet with you and give you a tour of our facility. You can then see for yourself all of the advantages that NYADI has to offer. I look forward to meeting with you. posted Nov 30th, 2017 12:51 pm

Gee for every negative comment posted here about NYADI a positive "testimonial" from someone shows up few days later. NYADI needs to stop posting these positive "testimonials" and focus on providing real education for the people enrolling in their school. Not worth the overpriced tuition for a trade school of they don't care at all. posted Nov 30th, 2017 12:43 am

Zack is either a troll or an employee at NYADI. I've actually have spoken to 2 students via social media on what their experience at NYADI is like and they have described it like I said on the previous post. The point I'm trying to make here Zacky Wacky is that NYADI shouldn't be censoring reviews just so people can enroll. Answer these questions Zack. If NYADI is such a good school, why did NYADI decide to get rid of their Facebook review post and censor older comments posted here? How is it possible that 4 different people posted their testimonials on this at almost exactly the same time on the same day? Also, there are a few negative reviews posted herevby people that went to NYADI. They are describing their experience as I've said multiple times here. Oh and I'm not working for a competitor. I'm just a normal working person who originally wanted to enroll at NYADI and found out that it's not what I thought it would be. I'm here to expose what NYADI is doing and that is being deceptive by censoring reviews and posting "testimonials" from other students so that people can enroll. For those reading this, please take the time to research any school you wish to enroll and make sure to look at the reviews from other students. Your time and money up should not be wasted by schools that don't care about giving quality education and only enroll students to make a profit. That's a FACT. posted Oct 10th, 2017 12:42 am

If you scroll down the reviews, below are the list of testimonials posted on the same day and exactly almost the same time. Here are a few posted here.

Clearly an employee from NYADI is copying and pasting "testimonials" from others on to this account. Also, you can't look at the previous reviews posted here. Don't believe me try looking at the previous reviews by pressing next. It's going to pop up as 404 error.

If you scroll down the reviews, there are 4 different people that posted testimonials on this site on September 12, 2017. Look carefully at the times posted below

Notice how 4 different people convienently posted on the same date around 9:30ish a.m.? Clearly someone working for NYADI is posting these testimonials to give people a good impression. Beware. Like I said earlier, there are a fair amount of people dissatisfied with their time at NYADI. NYADI censored their Facebook reviews and censored the earlier reviews posted here. Don't believe me, scroll down below and press next to see the next reviews. You can't!!! As soon as you try going on the next page, there's going to be something saying 404 error. Please take the time to research the school and see whether or not NYADI is going to be worth your time and money. Hope this helps. posted Sep 30th, 2017 12:15 am

Dear Zack,

You must be an current or former employee at NYADI so let me break down what I said earlier. I said either the reviews are fake OR NYADI employees are posting testimonials on this site from other students. It could be actual testomonies, it could be fake testimonies who knows. What do know is that NYADI is censoring negative reviews so that people looking to apply have a good impression of the school and that is very wrong. You guys go out your way to get rid of your review post on your Facebook page and the earlier reviews posted on this site. I have contacted 2 students via social media about their experience at NYADI and they said the same thing that I described earlier on this post that the school has a poor training facility, outdated technology, teachers that don't care, etc. You guys go out your way to get people to come to your school only to give them subpar education and to line your pockets by charging students to enroll in these overpriced programs. Also, I was already aware of NYADI offering an associate degree in automotive and diesel technology. Sure there are people that succeed and end up getting a job after enrolling in NYADI and there are a fair amount of people that have a bad impression of the school. The point is that reviews whether or not they give a school a bad name should never be censored and the public has the right to see both sides to see whether or not their time and money is worth it. That's a fact. posted Sep 29th, 2017 12:58 pm

I am responding to YK. You claim you didn't attend the school but have been keeping a close eye on it? How could you possibly know what goes on there? Did you know that NYADI is now offering an A.O.S. Degree in both Automotive and Diesel Technology? That means- NYADI is a COLLEGE. Also, more importantly, you should be ashamed calling out Dale Lamont Thomas, a STUDENT and a 20 year Decorated ARMY VETERAN OF THE UNITES STATES ARMY. In the current times we are in, We need to respect and revere the Men and Women who have put their lives on the line to uphold Our rights and give Us a Safer and better world to live in. posted Sep 26th, 2017 1:16 pm

The reviews left here are fake. I'm currently enrolled in NYADI sadly. I'm still enrolled only because I set out to finish what I start. No one is happy here and it is a complete waste of money. There are only 3 teachers in this school that know what there talking about. The facility is not state of the art it is however very outdated you can no longer work on your own cars or get any type of help with your own car. The school didn't like the response from its students the day they said we became a college was a very poor decisions on the schools part half the equipment doesn't work at all. They make us put on dog and pony shows for visitors they have coming to the school make us go to shop and act like we're doing something with machines that won't even turn on. The staff doesn't know anything about the school. You spend less time in the shop then the classroom the training equipment they have in the classes does not work. The cars for us to work on have all broken parts nothing is like working in the field. I encourage you to come to the school and see for yourself it's a very unhappy environment they only want money from you and they don't care about anything else. Recently they pushed everyone's graduation date back which is non sense half the teachers don't know anything 3 of them really do know they stuff... and the actually administration staff of the school don't know a single thing about school they're not able to help and unwilling to help in any way. I will say the job department does help students find jobs and mopars are a plus. But most times your going to be sitting in class bored doing nothing at all... there's no real hands on training.. posted Sep 18th, 2017 7:06 pm

My name is Monica Perry and I am a student at New York Automotive and Diesel Institute. I am so proud to be a student at NYADI where I have completed the Certified Truck and Diesel Technician Certificate, Certified Master Truck and Diesel Program and am currently enrolled in the Master Certified Collision Repair Program. As a veteran and a female mechanic I highly recommend New York ADI. My experience at NYADI has allowed me to meet the most extraordinary people and has opened many doors for me and my future.

When I relocated from L.A. and registered to New York ADI I was welcomed with open arms as if I were to become family and not just a number. As a veteran transitioning back into the civilian world, NYADI has given me the ideal platform to do so. The NYADI programs have given me the opportunity to gain additional hands-on training along with specific theoretical and problem solving skills I would need as an up and coming automotive and diesel technician in today market. Instructors dedicate themselves at school to ensure that we are polished and prepared for the workforce, so prepared that I have a desire to return one day to become an Instructor. I love it here so much that I go thru a 2 hour commute from New Jersey every day to study at New York ADI. It’s a decision I would make over and over again. Thank you New York ADI Family. posted Sep 12th, 2017 9:35 am

My Name is Mitranand Bipat, I started the Master Technician Truck and Diesel Program here at New York ADI in 2015 not knowing what to expect after getting out from the Army. To my surprise the experience so far has been amazing. The amount of knowledge I have gain from professional instructors, staff and hand-on experience is second to none. My instructors are very knowledgeable in the subjects they are teaching and always take the discussion back to the industry and its application. Most of all I enjoyed discussion with my instructors and passionate classmates.

My Classmates at New York ADI were always supportive, challenging and always helpful while in class or during lab sessions. Now that I am about to graduate looking back at all the knowledge and skills I have acquired, especially with the certifications I will be leaving New York ADI with, like my 39 modules of Mopar CAP Program, I have nothing else but the world of possibilities that awaits me including opening my one repair shop back in my native country Guyana in South America. I would without a doubt recommend and hope everyone interested in a Diesel Program visit New York Automotive and Diesel Institute. posted Sep 12th, 2017 9:33 am

I graduated from NYADI in August 2016 in the diesel field.

When I attended NYADI I received the skills, knowledge and the support from the instructors and staff which created a tremendous benefit to me.

Before graduation I worked in the diesel field and while I was there I was promoted to shop manager and then offered to buy the business (NDK group Inc.)

I am now very successful in my business and very happy that NYADI gave me the opportunity to pursue my dream. posted Sep 12th, 2017 9:31 am

Beware of the reviews posted here on this forum. Most of the reviews from Cristian, dale Thomas, John and others are either fake or copy and pasted testimonals posted by the employees working at NYADI. NYADI school is censoring negative reviews to make sure that people reading the "good" reviews get a good impression, thus encouraging others to apply to NYADI. DON'T DO IT. Though I never enrolled in the school, I've been keeping an eye on NYADI for quite some time hoping to enroll. Unfortunately there has been several reviews about NYADI lack of quality instructors, poor learning environment, and dirty facility. There was once a review section on their Facebook page and there were several negative reviews posted about the same thing I explained earlier. NYADI later removed their review section out of their Facebook page to censor the negative reciews. Also, NYADI seemed to censor the earlier reviews posted on this forum. If you're reading this, please do your research before enrolling in this school. The reason is because NYADI is censoring negative reviews to avoid being seen by the public and that's very wrong on their part. Everyone deserves to find out for themselves on whether or not enrolling would be worth their money and reviews should never be censored regardless. posted Sep 4th, 2017 2:54 am
